Brand Naming, Positioning & Identity Design

Mi Casa was a concept restaurant created to serve authentic Mexican food to a modern, design-conscious audience. The founders wanted to capture the warmth and richness of Mexican culture while appealing to a contemporary urban crowd. We were brought on to develop the name, positioning, and visual identity for their funding pitch.

BRAND NAMING & POSITIONING

The name Mi Casa — meaning “my home” — was developed to express warmth, inclusivity, and the personal connection at the heart of Mexican hospitality. It’s a phrase that transcends borders, inviting guests to feel part of something familiar yet vibrant.

We positioned Mi Casa as a modern homage to Mexico’s culinary heritage, celebrating authentic recipes, vibrant culture, and the artistry of regional ingredients. The brand strategy centred on one idea: “the soul of Mexico, served with modern simplicity.”

CULTURALLY RICH BRAND DESIGN

The visual identity needed to feel both rooted and refined - unmistakably Mexican, yet not clichéd or expected. The logo, inspired by Mayan hieroglyphic design, became a symbolic representation of the restaurant’s deep cultural roots, translated through clean, geometric lines for a modern edge.

The colour palette was drawn from the rich hues of Mexican spices - deep terracottas, golden saffrons, and vibrant chilli reds - evoking warmth, flavour, and energy across every touchpoint. Custom typography and hand-drawn patterns were introduced to add craft and authenticity.

RESULTS

Mi Casa successfully bridged the gap between tradition and modernity. Its distinct identity helped the restaurant stand out in a competitive dining landscape, instantly communicating authenticity, creativity, and cultural depth.
